GP at Hand is an NHS GP Partnership. The Partners are responsible for the oversight and governance of all aspects of the service.

Our Clinicians

We have a range of different Clinicians at GP at Hand. Our booking system will gather some details from you to help us guide you towards the person who can help you get the care you need, first time. Our Clinicians include:

Our GPs are highly-trained and experienced generalist Doctors. They have all worked in the NHS for a number of years and are able to examine and diagnose common illnesses, manage complex or long-term conditions, issue prescriptions and Fit Notes and make referrals to specialists. GPs are particularly skilled at managing those who are pregnant, elderly, young children, and those with a number of unrelated symptoms or conditions.
Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners have extensive experience and training. They can examine and diagnose most common illnesses and support those with long-term conditions. If needed, they can also issue a prescription or refer you to a specialist. Many of our ANPs have specialist training in a particular area of practice.
As well as managing our Repeat Prescription processes and ensuring safe and high quality prescribing practices across our service, our Pharmacists can diagnose and treat many minor illnesses. Many of our team also have specialist training in a particular area of practice such as Asthma or Diabetes. Our Pharmacists can advise you on your medications and issue prescriptions when needed.
Our Physiotherapists are experts in musculoskeletal issues. They can diagnose and treat a wide range of muscle, joint and bone problems, and aches and pains. They will set up a personalised exercise and rehabilitation programme for you, and can also refer to a specialist if needed. You can read more about our musculoskeletal services here.
Our travel health nurses can give you advice and recommendations for travelling abroad. You must have a digital consultation with a travel health nurse before you can attend a clinic for any vaccines. Our Travel Health Nurses can assess your travel health needs, provide travel health advice and vaccinations recommendations and check for missing doses of routine NHS vaccines. Our Diabetes Specialist Nurses are highly skilled healthcare practitioners in diabetes care who provide holistic patient-centred care to both type 1 and type 2 diabetic patients. They can prescribe you medication, refer you to appropriate services, coordinate and help manage the care of diabetes and provide information about diabetes self-management education courses. Our Prescribing Mental Health Practitioners are Registered Mental Health Nurses and are able to assess and provide advice and prescribe for a wide range of mental health conditions from anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, and serious mental illnesses such as psychosis, Bipolar disorder and Schizophrenia. They can prescribe certain medications for mental health conditions, refer to Psychiatric services to review and/or initiate medication such as antipsychotics, mood stabilisers, and ADHD medication, provide self-help advice and management for conditions, complete assessments for specialist referrals, provide short interim support for those waiting for secondary care providers and support those in mental health crisis. Our Clinic Nursing Team are experts in managing vaccinations, health checks, wounds and dressings, chronic disease reviews, blood and other tests and much more. The Team consists of Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists.
